Last Saturday was pretty eventful. I got to do a solo and a Hop & Pop. A Hop & Pop is where you simulate an emergency exit by jumping at 5,000 feet and deploying your chute within 5 seconds. I took a bit longer and from what I was told by a friend on the plane; the instructor was yelling pull out the plane door while the rest of the jumpers aboard where cheering me on for holding longer than I should have. All in all it was a good day except that when I landed from the Hop & Pop the wind caught my chute and dragged me off a ten foot cliff. Luckily it was soft dirt/sand so I was not hurt. The next time I am near a cliff and I cannot stop the chute from dragging me I am going to pull the cut away handle and let the chute go.
